Rum Cobbler

Balanced on a knife-edge of sour and sweet. The night tends to improve from here.

Ingredients

• Sugar (pantry)1 tsp superfine
• Soda water3 oz
• Lemons1
• Dark rum2 oz
• Maraschino cherry (pantry)1
• Oranges1

Method

1. In an old-fashioned glass, dissolve the sugar in the club soda.
2. Add crushed ice until the glass is almost full.
3. Add the rum.
4. Stir well.
5. Garnish with the cherry and the orange and lemon slices.
